A weathered sheriff returns to the remains of an accident he has spent a lifetime trying to forget. Borrowed time was made by Andrew Coats and Lou Hamou-Lhadj during their spare time with the help of many artists, with the aim to show that animation can be used to tell stories that are not just for kids. Both directors work as animators at Pixar, which shows through in the impressive technical quality of the film. The Western-themed short makes interesting use of flashbacks, an expressive environment, sensory images and objects, among other highlights.
