"Lucille surfs the net looking for a date."
Blind Date is a short film that provides an alternative look at the dating ritual by re-contextualizing it through unusual staging. The short was produced at England-based Aardman Animations as part of the studio’s short films program. Two characters arrange a meeting in a lighthouse in the middle of the sea. Due to the unintended actions of the woman character, a conflict with the environment is triggered for the character of the man.
Highlights of Blind Date include the very creative staging, use of sensory images, sound design, character design, the aesthetic emphasis on traditional media combined with subtle use of 3D animation, and the elements of humor and surprise.
