How to Train Your Robot

How to Train Your Robot is the first short film produced by students from the new Platige Academy. It bears the signature and style of talented Polish filmmaker Tomasz Baginski, known for films such as The Cathedral and Fallen Art. Baginski wrote and directed the short, which was made by students from animation and VFX courses.

The short features rapid editing (with some jump cuts), fast visual rhythm enhanced through hand-held cameras and close-up shots, and one fast, quick pan. The training sequence (shot in “dialogue” style) uses various camera positions to capture the two characters and establish directions and relationship, or portray details of their acting.

Special attention is dedicated to VFX and integration of digital elements with filmed footage. It’s worth noting that a digital double is used in the final punch shot to replace the actor.
