A tape with recorded messages was found on a used answering machine. Ten years later, over this audio of real recordings, a short film gets made. Through these calls we get to know the story of Enrique and María Teresa. In her calls, María Teresa unfolds a number of strategies to try to get Enrique to call her, with an unexpected ending.
The short uses a static camera, household staging and editing that is synchronized to the audio recordings. An emphasis on acting (wonderfully delivered by actress Andrea Carballo straight to the camera) helps transmit the strong emotions of the dialogue.
Thanks to the wide acclaim the short has received on the net, the authors of the original recordings have been found.
