Supinfocom Arles and MuCEM partnership – Wonders of the World shorts

Supinfocom Arles and the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations (MuCEM) have partnered to collaborate on the creation of animated films related to MuCEM’s exhibitions and its focus on Mediterranean cultures. Eight videos were initially produced by teams composed of 4th year students who worked with MuCEM historians and conservationists to maintain some degree of historical accuracy, giving the students a chance to learn about historical research methods.

The first eight films were based on the theme “Wonders of the World”, and were produced to be projected at MuCEM’s semi-permanent exhibition “Gallery of the Mediterranean”. An interesting video that documents the production process is available, courtesy of Jean-François Évrard. You can watch it by clicking on the image above.

The collaboration between Supinfocom Arles and MuCEM continues: four new films have been produced for MuCEM’s 2014 calendar following the themes of three exhibitions: The Roads of Odessa, The World Upside-Down and Volubilis.

The first eight shorts can be found on the related Supinfocom Arles’ Wonders of the World page. The ones available on YouTube and Vimeo have been posted below, along with the ones from 2014.
