"Giraffes portrayed in one of their daily habits."
5m80 is a short film by French director Nicolas Deveaux, a Supinfocom alumnus who has worked on a number of projects involving CG animals, mixing what he says are his two passions: CG imagery and the animal kingdom.
This latest short plays with context, repetition, visual rhythm and music to create a surreal piece in which giraffes are portrayed practicing ornamental jumping.
No conflicts are present, characters are described collectively (none is personally identifiable), and there’s a great amount of work dedicated to coordinating music with visual rhythm. Elements of surprise and humor help support the narrative of the film.
