Caminandes: Gran Dillama

"A llama tries to reach a tasty meal."

Caminandes: Gran Dillama is a short film created at the Blender Institute and directed by Pablo Vázquez from Argentina. It’s released as part of the open movie project initiative, which is developed with the intention of further improving the features of Blender, the open source 3D animation software.

Set in a rural mountain area Caminandes: Gran Dillama uses one main character, a stylized aesthetic and saturated colors. A clearly defined external conflict triggers a number of comedic situations. Highlights of the film include its use of humor (comedic elements such as the way the electric fence is portrayed for a moment as a character with personality or the use of a shot from outside Earth to narrate the story). Also, following the tradition of music-based animated cartoons (Caminandes was inspired by the old cartoons by Chuck Jones), a lot of work has been dedicated to using music to set the mood and complement the action.
