Fallen

"A little meteor learns the biggest lesson of life on its way down to earth."

Fallen is an existentialist short film written, directed and animated by German artists Sascha Geddert and Wolfram Kampffmeyer during their studies at Filmakademie Baden Württemberg.

An unusual main character, a clearly defined internal conflict and an accent on sound compose this great short that portrays one of the crucial aspects of life: how we face awareness of death.

Staged in space and in mid-air above the ocean, the film places an emphasis on transmitting the emotions of the main character, for transmitting its conflict to the audience. Close-ups abound, as well as full shots and long shots to put the character in context and describe his situation.

The environment plays a key role in Fallen, and sound also plays a significant role in conveying the situation of the character through sensory images to the audience.
