Happily Ever After

"A journey into the future of a young couple moving in together for the first time"

Happily Ever After is a short film directed by Yonni Aroussi and Ben Genislaw about a young couple in love and how their relationship evolves through time.

The film presents an urban staging with plenty of non-realistic playful elements, featuring two main characters, showing how they age through time, with increasing external conflicts.

Starting with a slower pace, the plot point that takes place around 2m02 (having kids) propels the characters into a number of situations that show their increasingly conflictive relationship and deterioration, which is reflected in the progressive change of their aesthetic. The editing pace increases accordingly, intensifying the sensation of loss of control.

Highlights of Happily Ever After include the metaphors chosen by the authors, the editing, the prevalent use of humor and the key situations of life depicted showing aging and the frictions of evolving relationships. There’s a lot of truth contained in these 6 minutes of film.
