"Patience is a virtue."
Three characters, a rural staging and an emphasis on humor compose this brief but fun short by Supinfocom student Gabriel Grapperon.
The film uses a photorealistic aesthetic, a lot of effort has been dedicated to environment design, character modeling, lighting and image composition (with shallow depth of field employed to help bring focus on the characters). Static cameras are mostly present (one pan is used at 0m35), visual rhythm is provided by editing and movement within the frame.
Off-screen space, sound, timing, character’s expressions and contrasts in acting (the subdued performance of the toad) are very effectively used to augment the comedic effect.
