MOPA (ex-Supinfocom Arles) >
Located in southern France, MOPA was established in the year 2000 as Supinfocom Arles, a branch of the school Supinfocom. In 2015, Supinfocom Arles was renamed to MOPA, leaving the Supinfocom umbrella. Up to 2017 it was known as one of the top 3D animation schools due to producing, year after year, some of the best animated shorts in the world. In the year 2017, its director was laid off by the Arles institutions CCI/CIPEN, triggering a strong crisis that resulted in many of its teachers leaving in protest together with the director. This team, with strong support from the 3D animation industry, went on to found a new school in the nearby city of Avignon, under the name ENSI, which could perhaps be viewed as a continuation of MOPA’s tradition and pedagogic system.
