Illusions – fractals video

Self-proclaimed fractal archeologist Julius Horsthuis has been experimenting for some months with 3D fractal generating software. He’s mastering the technique and creating videos with wonderful aesthetics, which are based on complex shapes produced by relatively simple mathematics. As the author himself says “they look designed, but this is just an Illusion”. The software used by the author is Mandelbulb 3D, an open source application that provides features for controlling lighting, color, specularity, depth-of-field, shadow and glow effects.
