"A tribute to the musicians and visual artists from past decades."

Coming from Israel and born out of the collaboration of director Vania Heymann (alumnus from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design) and musician Roy Kafri, this music video focuses on the recent history of (mostly pop) music and through heavy use of compositing brings the covers of well known music albums alive.

The video is staged in an urban setting and the director fortunately chose to go further than the album covers collage, weaving them into a narrative that uses montage within the frame and plays with time, using slow motion and reverse playback in order to create suspense and keep revealing details of the story until the end.

Due to the subject being filmed there’s plenty of use of overhead shots and close-ups. Visual rhythm is handled mostly through editing during the first half of the video and then through camera moves and motion within the frame. The VFX are very well executed, and the elements of humor, surprise, new twist on familiar iconography and playful use of continuity are combined to produce a highly enjoyable video.
