One Day

"One man always on the move will have an encounter that puts into question everything he knows."

One Day is a remarkable short film produced at Gobelins that features a minimalist script but packs a strong message about loneliness, constant change and the difficulties of creating meaningful connections.

The film places and emphasis in depicting passage of time (through fades, change of lighting, sound, music and camera movement) and in the creation of an intimate, psychological atmosphere through the use of subjective and semi-subjective cameras.

It’s worth watching more than once to grasp all the details. One clarification: the phrase in French at 1m18 means “where are you going to take me tomorrow?”.
