Cycle is an enigmatic short film created by Amir Porat and Mor Israeli that portrays fragmented images of characters in de-contextualized cycling motions.
Static cameras, visual rhythm within the frame and saturated colors are used in a minimalist mise-en-scène. The widening shots and combination of elements in the final sequences help build the study of characters and motion into an interesting concept.
Cycle was created for the Israeli contest Maratoon 2013, which dealt with depicting the subject of “bicycle”.
